Business Continuity with Azure

£150 + VAT

This half day workshop shows how businesses large and small can benefit from using cloud-based backups in Microsoft Azure.

Whether looking to protect your IaaS assets in Azure or other datacentre providers, or simply looking for a way to backup critical on-premises systems to the cloud, we will explore why this feature is highly popular. We will also examine how ASR can be used to bring servers online into a Disaster Recovery (DR) datacentre or how to use Azure as your DR site.

Pre-requisites

Basic knowledge of Azure preferable, but we will explain subscriptions and how to access the Azure services. Knowledge of on-premises backup technologies such as Windows Server Backup/3rd party and also an awareness of Azure services would be beneficial.

Course Outline

Module 1

Introduction to Azure Business Continuity services

You will learn about Azure subscriptions and where Backup and ASR fit into this, and what they have to offer your business. The scenarios of data protection and disaster recovery will be discussed.

Module 2

Protecting assets with Azure Backup

Learn how to create a recovery services vault and use it to protect on-premises and cloud based servers. We will examine the different architecture choices available including protecting VMware, Hyper-V and physical servers, as well as IaaS services in Azure or other cloud platforms.

Module 3

Automated Site Recovery

Learn how ASR can help protect a business against datacentre failure so that the business can continue to function either using their own secondary datacentre, or using Azure to supply services.
